Tania Te Whenua (BA Maori Resource Management/LLB Commercial Law) is of Tuhoe and Whakatohea descent. Tania founded AwaWhenua in 2010 and recently rebranded to Te Whenua Consulting, a firm which provides advice and training to strengthen cultlural competency and Maori development. Prior to consulting, Tania was the Programme Manager Maori at Victoria University's Centre for Lifelong Learning and co-wrote the Centre's Maori language resources. Tania works across New Zealand to deliver AwaWhenua programmes in a range of locations to numerous private and public sector organisations. Tania is known for fostering confidence in those with little or no exposure to the Treaty of Waitangi and Maori culture in a safe learning environment.
